papel de armenia

Scent:

Armenian Paper is a natural and eco-friendly air freshener that, when burned, releases a delicate fragrance of benzoin and vanilla. Its smoke not only perfumes the air but also deodorizes and purifies it, effectively eliminating unpleasant odors from tobacco, cooking, or pets.

This product originated in 1885 in Paris, as a result of a trip by the French chemist Auguste Ponsot to Armenia, where he discovered the disinfectant properties of benzoin. After extracting the resin from the Styrax benzoin tree, he macerated it in alcohol and impregnated it with paper treated with salt water to slow its combustion. Its formula and process of
Production in Montrouge has remained virtually unchanged since then.

Composition:

The paper is impregnated with almost 98% benzoin resin. Its sweet aroma is known for its antiseptic, healing, expectorant, and purifying properties, traditionally used to relieve respiratory problems.

How to use:

It's very easy to use: cut a strip from the booklet, fold it accordion-style, and place it on a heat-resistant surface (like an ashtray or saucer). Light the strip and extinguish the flame by blowing gently; it should remain glowing and burn slowly.

A single strip is enough to scent and purify the entire room, thanks to its slow, flameless burn. It can also be used without burning: by placing strips among books, in drawers, or in closets, they release fragrance continuously. It is recommended to burn no more than 3 or 4 strips per week and to ventilate the space well, especially for people with respiratory sensitivities.
